Fall 2010 Upcoming International Visitors
Sept. 7 – 10 Labor Policy and Management
13 visitors whose work involves union / labor management issues will be coming to meet with RI legislators, union heads, business managers, and educators to learn about labor practices and policies in RI. It is a multi-regional group, with representation from 13 countries on four continents.
Sept. 22 – 25 International News and Media
A Portuguese journalist based in Luxembourg will meet with the Portuguese Consul and Vice-Consul, with the Director of the International Charter School (Portuguese – English and Spanish – English classes), with Portuguese business man Albertino Milho, with RI Senate President Paiva-Weed, with Maria Pacheco from Brown University’s Education Alliance, and with Rico Riveira, editor of O Jornal in Fall River.
Sept. 28 – Oct. 5 Teaching American Culture Abroad
28 guests from all around the world will be here to learn about American History and Culture, to better teach American Language in their home countries. They will meet with Education Alliance Executive Director Adie Becker, Director of Equity and Diversity Projects Maria Pacheco, RI legislative leaders of education committees, and visit PAIS and the Genesis community.
